Seedling · Planning ahead

    Coming soon

Plan ahead, a little at a time, so your family isn’t left guessing.

Seedling will bring together Omuna’s tools for planning ahead: help with a will, with advance directives, and with keeping track of who your accounts go to. Until it’s here, Family Circle is a good place to start.

Family Circle is free, and ready today.

    An early sketch

    Not ready yet

The planning tools aren’t ready yet.

There’s no will builder, advance directive help or beneficiary organizer on Omuna today. What you can do now is write down your wishes and where your papers are in Family Circle, so the people you love have something to go on.

Start with your own record, a little at a time.

Family Circle is ready now. Nothing has to be finished in one sitting, and every answer can be changed later.

    1. Tonight

      Say what you’d want

Make a free account and choose “I’m planning ahead”. Your own record opens in Family Circle. Start with your wishes and who should be called, in your own words.

      • What you’d want
      • Who to call
    2. This week

      Note where the papers are

Whether there’s a will or a trust and where it’s kept, who you’ve named as executor, and whether you have a living will, a DNR or a healthcare power of attorney, and who holds it. Never the documents themselves. Print it all as a one-page emergency card whenever you like.

      • Will and trust
      • Executor
      • Advance directives
      • Guardians for your children
    3. When you’re ready

Bring in the people you love

Add your family to your circle. Send a parent a link so they can answer their own questions from their phone, with no account to make.

    4. Whenever the words come

      Leave a letter

Write a letter, or record one, for someone in your circle. Only you can read it until after you die. Then someone you choose passes it on.

    Questions about planning ahead

Can I write my will on Omuna?

Not yet. A will builder is part of what we plan for Seedling, and it isn’t built. Today, Family Circle lets you record whether you have a will, where it’s kept and who your executor is.

Can Omuna create my advance directive?

No. Family Circle can record whether you have a DNR, a living will, a POLST or a healthcare power of attorney, and where each one is kept. It doesn’t create the documents, and it isn’t legal or medical advice.

    When will Seedling be ready?

We haven’t set one, and we won’t guess. A will and a directive matter too much to rush.

I’m trying to help my parents plan. Where do I start?

Start a Family Circle and add them. You can answer what you know, or send each of them a link so they can answer their own questions in their own words. Our caregiving page has more for people looking after a parent.

    Is Family Circle private?

Only you and the people you invite into your account can see your circle. Letters stay private to the person who wrote them until after they die, even from whoever looks after the circle.

    Plant something today.

Seedling is still growing. Family Circle is ready, and a few answers written down now are worth more than a perfect plan someday.
